MSG Entertainment and Citi Performing Arts Center announced today that legendary singer-songwriter, Van Morrison, will return to the Wang Theatre on Tuesday, April 26 at 8:00PM.  Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00AM.

Morrison was a traveling musician starting at the age of 13, singing, playing guitar and saxophone and was in several bands.  He was inspired by artists such as Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, Muddy Walters and Mahalia Jackson. Morrison gained recognition in the mid 1960s as the lead singer of the R&B band Them, with whom he recorded classics such as “Gloria” and “Here Comes The Night.” Morrison was soon thereafter established as a major force in the British R&B scene.

Morrison’s solo career launched with the Top 40 hit “Brown Eyed Girl,” which he worked on with Bert Berns, Them’s New York producer.  Morrison has received six Grammy Awards, the 1994 Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music and has been inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning on Saturday, December 12 at 10:00AM and are available at the Wang Theatre Box Office, Citicenter.org, or by calling (800) 982 – ARTS (2787).
