Van Morrison appeared as part of a glittering line up as Ronnie Scott’s celebrated its 60th birthday in style at The Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 30th October

Van was introduced to the stage by American Jazz singer, Kurt Elling who joined him for an astounding rendition of Ain’t Gonna Moan No More, a track from Morrison’s album The Prophet Speaks. The pair were backed by Georgie Fame’s The Blue Flames.

As Kurt left the stage the tempo ramped up for a stomping version of Broken Record, enjoyed by the star-studded audience. Other guests on the night included Courtney Pine, Curtis Stigers, Imelda May, Pee Wee Ellis amongst a host of others.

Georgie Fame who was instrumental in pulling the event together was unfortunately forced to pull out due to injury, he was hugely missed and Van wishes him all the best for a speedy recovery.
